We travel to The Helix park, Scotland's newest visitor attraction, where we take in The Kelpies Experience Tour. See the world's largest equine sculptures showcasing the heavy horses of industry and economy, designed by Andy Scott. We experience a Kelpie from the inside to view the breathtaking engineering and design.
A short distance away is the town of Falkirk where we find towering above us, the giant feat of engineering known as the "Falkirk Wheel". Embrace panoramic views from the world's one and only rotating boat lift and enjoy a relaxing sail along the aqueduct and canal. Experience the interactive exhibitions at this unique and ingenious visitor attraction. Lunch will will be taken at the Falkirk Wheel visitor centre prior to the boat trip. We return directly to your accommodation or cruise ship.
Our visit to The Helix, a new parkland project, sees us experience the 30-metre high horse-head sculptures known as the Kelpies. A Kelpie, or water kelpie, is the Scots name given to a shape-shifting water spirit. It has usually been described as appearing as a horse and has the strength and endurance of a hundred horses.
We then travel a short distance to the Falkirk Wheel where we take lunch. During your visit you can sail 35 metres into the air and experience the World's first and only rotating boat lift. Here the Forth & Clyde Canal meets the Union Canal.
