Two days of flexible and comprehensive sightseeing in Budapest

During two days we will cover the most important monuments of Budapest with their stories and legends and the amazing urban landscape.

We will explore the city in a relaxed way. If you have mobility issues, we can walk in a slower pace, we will often use the excellent public transport service of the city, and we will sit down whenever you wish.

We can follow a flexible schedule: we can spend together two half days, one full day and a half day or even two full days, just as you prefer. In case of a full day tour we can have a break for lunch and then continue the tour after lunch. Thus a full day tour will normally take 5-6 hours without lunch time.

1st day itinerary:
- Buda Castle with Matthias Church, Fishermen's Bastion
- the Royal palace and the amazing city views
- Inner City, Danube bank and Saint Stephen's Basilica (inside visit)

2nd day itinerary:
- Central Market Hall (except Sunday)
- Jewish Quarter and Great Synagogue
- Andrassy Avenue & City Park
- Liberty Square and the Parliament (outside)

We can follow a flexible itinerary discussed in advance. My proposal:

On the 1st day we can visit Buda Castle including the Royal Palace, Matthias Church, Fishermen's Bastion enjoying the view of the Danube and its bridges. Then we can take a bus or walk down to cross the Chain Bridge and go to the Pest side where we will visit Saint Stephen' Basilica and the Danube bank. The tour can end in Pest center touristy shopping area, at the main walking street Váci utca.

On the 2nd day we can start around the Parliament and recall the events of Communism and the 1956 national revolution. From there we can take a tram and go for a shopping in the Central Market Hall. After a walk to the Great Synagogue and the Jewish quarter, we can take the old metro (built in 1896) and visit Heroes' Square, the City Park, its Romantic castle and Szechenyi termal bath. We will take the metro back to the city exploring Andrassy Avenue and the Opera Theatre. Our tour will end in Deák Square, a popular meeting point for locals.

A Recent Review of this tour

Adam was very pleasant, knowledgeable about Budapest history, and was willing to spend as much time with us as we needed to see all the sights we were interested in seeing. He had an interesting perspective as someone who lived through the communist era. Highly recommended.
