Personal style, child and wheelchair friendly easy walk
Explore with me the most spectacular monuments of the inner parts of Budapest. Touching stories of "blood and freedom", sites of faith, resistance and the 1956 revolution. My personal stories about the Communist dictatorship, when I was in school. A dramatic trip through the Basilica to the Parliament.
Tailored for those who want something more than hearing about facts and viewing touristy sights. Ideal even for families with small children, for wheelchair users who can not cope stairs on other tours, or for elderly people who walk slow.
Itinerary
We can start at the market hall and walk along the historical shopping street and the Danube bank where we can see 2000-year old Roman ruins. From there we go to Deak ter (Deak Sq. ) watching the Lutheran Church and the statue of a priest who saved children during the Holocaust. Then we walk to St. Stephen Basilica, the 3rd biggest Catholic church of the world when built. (It is accessible with wheelchair from the side entrance. )
In the second part of the tour, we visit the two largest squares of the center: Szabadsag ter (Freedom Sq. ) and Kossuth ter, the square around the Parliament building. On Freedom Square, we visit the Miracolous Fountain (in use from spring to autumn) and the last Soviet Communist memorial. We finish at the Parliament, visiting the statue of the martyr prime minister and various memorials of our national revolutions. You will hear about the Communist dictatorship and how we fought in the 1956 revolution.
During the tour we can stop for tasting the best strudel of the city.

A Recent Review of this tour
Read More Reviews For This TourUnbelievably professional tour guide. He really knows the city and his background of the history of Budapest and Hungary is outstanding. He went out of his way to modify the tour to meet our needs and took us to places we didn't know existed. Best of all, he took us to a "locals" restaurant and it was great. Can't say enough good things about Adam.
