Listed #5 in NY Times ''52 Places to Go in 2015"
What can be said about this wonderful place? With an average of three hundred days a year of clear skies, green vineyards, clear rivers, beautiful hills and, at night, one of the most iconic places in South America to practice stargazing with at least 6 small observatories located in this region. The Elqui Valley has everything you need to satisfy your desires of visiting a place that will never leave your heart.
Our tour starts in the city of La Serena, the second eldest city of Chile, with beautiful Colonial architecture. Then we head to the town of Vicuña (pronounced Vicunia), to see the typical marketplaces, museum, and places of interest. The Elqui Valley is an absolutely breathtaking place, with warm people and climate, promising one of the most wonderful sights of this part of the valley.
This place speaks for itself, when you finish this tour I promise you'll want to come back again someday in the future.
Right before I pick you up, I'll give you a little glimpse of my city and it's main streets and monuments, then we will move right to the heart of the Elqui Valley: Vicuña, where I will show you and explain the Pisco and Winemaking processes.
Right after that, I'll show you the museum, the marketplace, and we can have lunch with a beautiful sight to the city square. After having a delicious and typical ''valley lunch'', we will rest a bit next to the Elqui river, and then start our journey back to the city, but not before we take a look at the Puclaro Dam and its beautiful sight (closed on Mondays).
The trip is extremely relaxing, the climate is always sunny in the valley, so just prepare for a place that you'll never forget.

We were so fortunate to enjoy an all day private tour of the Elqui Valley, including a Pisco distillery and a country luncheon created from solar ovens with the knowledgeable, friendly, and wonderful English speaking guide, Jaime Castillo, and his 5-Star driver, Marcello. We could not have planned the day any better for our stop in Coquimbo and Le Serena, Chile while traveling on the cruise ship, Crystal Symphony. Jaime went the extra mile to offer a very fun and informative day for the six of us.
