An easy Private 3 and1/2 hour walk round the Old and New towns of Edinburgh

We start our tour near Edinburgh Castle with ample opportunity to photograph in this world famous location. Your guide in his national dress will tell you of the happenings, the history and the humour of the city as we walk down the Royal Mile as far as the site of the city wall. On the way you will see houses some dating back 400 years or more, public buildings and churches
which are woven into the history of the Old Town.
After an optional break for lunch or refreshments we cross into the New Town ( new in 1769 )and walk the length of George Street from St Andrew's Square to Charlotte Square. On the way you will be entertained with the stories of the people featured in the statues in the street, and see many historic buildings.
The tour continues from Charlotte Square, one of the finest Georgian Squares anywhere, and finish the tour between the two classically styled art galleries having travelled along West Princes Street Gardens from where are the finest views of Edinburgh Castle.

A Recent Review of this tour

We had a walking tour of some of the highlights of Edinburgh with Martin and enjoyed the tour immensely. Martin is very informative and was able to blend our tour with items that were of interest to Canadians. He met us at the train station which suited us well and the tour departed from there. Martin looked very much the part as he was dressed in his kilt. Our route had to be modified due to a large parade for "Independence for Scotland" plus the rain that came in the early afternoon.
