Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, St Giles and various closes on the way
Visit Edinburgh Castle, with tour and free time , then slowly down the Royal Mile, stopping at St Giles Cathedral for a private guided tour. Also enter several of the Closes (alleys) that Edinburgh is famed for. Have lunch and then continue down to Holyrood Palace for guided tour if time permits or photo opportunity.
I will pick you up at your hotel at 9. 30am, assuming your hotel is within a mile of the castle (approx) and go by taxi up to the castle. Then a tour of the castle (about 2 hours) followed by walking down the Royal Mile, going in to closes such as Lady Stair's to learn the local history of the Old Town.
Then lunch, followed by guided tour of St Giles Cathedraland continue down the Royal Mile going into Canongate Kirk, if open, then Dunbar's Close. After that, down to White Horse Close, then either entry to Holyrood Palace, the Queen's residence when she is in town, if it is open and there is time, or a photo opportunity outside. Then a taxi back to your hotel
