Friendly and fun tour of the best places with a local who loves his city
My private tour is perfect for anyone looking to get a great overview of the city in a fun and friendly manner, whether you are a first time visitor or have been here many times before, I'll show you Edinburgh through the eyes of a local.
I like to let people know really what makes the city so special and I'll take you away from the crowds and see the best Edinburgh has to offer on the lesser walked paths as well as seeing the "must see sights. "
We cover everything from culture, festivals, literature and manageable bites of history you can relate to whisky and modern day politics, I'm happy to talk about anything Edinburgh and Scottish and let you know what locals really think and where we really go to eat and drink.
I'm always happy to include something specific you would like as well, we can visit the roof of St Giles Cathedral, I can take you for a whisky tasting in a real local pub, visit some great coffee shops or make recommendations for anything you would like to do.
The tour will take in key areas of the Royal Mile; St Giles Cathedral, old alleyways, Greyfriars Church, Victoria Street, the Grassmarket and the entrance to Edinburgh Castle. As we explore you'll find out more about the characters and events who shaped Edinburgh that have resulted in books famous the world over, find out what it took to be accused of being a witch and how Edinburgh became famous in the world of medicine. Also, places of interest and good places to eat and drink will be pointed out. After your tour you'll know all the need to know about our great city.
It's always best to be prepared for the weather, raincoats and umbrellas are often needed but there are also plenty of dry spots to shelter during the day as well.

Will was a great tour guide. He was very flexible and met us at the restaurant where we were having our lunch. His history of Edinburg was extensive. We loved his many antidotes and storytelling. He added much to our trip and we enjoyed our time with him.
