Edinburgh has been voted the No. 1 city to visit in the UK by the British newspaper, the Daily Telegraph. So, you have taken the first step to visiting our beautiful city and hopefully, I can be a part of your visit by guiding you around the city and the surrounding area.
My background is quite varied, first of all serving in the British Army for 17 years, then returning to my hometown of Edinburgh. I have lived here for the last 20 years and initially I worked as a financial advisor and also in advertising, before becoming a tour guide. And because life is all about experiences, I was also an actor in various Scottish TV and movie productions.
With over 10 years of guiding experience my goal during your visit is to provide you with an experience that you will never forget.
Because of my previous career paths, I consider myself to be a real "people person" who is flexible, accommodating and adaptable. Even if the tours that I offer don't quite tick all the boxes, contact me as I can always amend and rearrange the content to suit your requirements.
I will bring the history and evolution of Edinburgh to life, not just by facts and dates, but through stories and events that have made Edinburgh the city that it is today. And of course, a tour isn't a tour without some of the trivia and the humor not found in guidebooks that give you the very essence of the city.
From start to finish, you will be kept entertained and informed whilst travelling in the comfort of my spacious Mercedes V Class people carrier which easily accommodates 6 passengers. There will also be opportunities to walk parts of the routes that we travel on and plenty of opportunity for photo stops. For those taking an All Day Tour, you will, of course, have the opportunity to visit inside a major attraction or two.
A Recent Review of this guide
We had a wonderful tour with Andy. Everything about this tour was exceptional. Andy met us at the dock (we were on a cruise) with a spotless car, right on time. He tailored the tour to our desires because we had specific places in Edinburgh that we wanted to see. He gave us great information about this beautiful city and took us to places we may have missed if we had tried this on our own. He even knew the perfect shop for my husband to get a handmade kilt. Definitely book Andy!

Parking restrictions in Edinburgh are closely monitored. As driver & guide, I may need to drop you as close to the entrance of a visitor attraction and then find a place to legally park before rejoining the group.
