East side of Zion Canyon
Classic tour of Zion National Park focusing on visiting the iconic vistas and pull-outs along the way to Checkerboard Mesa on the east side of Zion National Park. One of our first stops will be at the Human History Museum where we will see the early morning sun as it sweeps down across the Temple of the Sun.
We will visit as many of the classic spots as is possible in a half day tour. A highlight of this tour is Checkerboard Mesa and the fantastic hoodoo rock formations nearby. If we're lucky we'll see and photograph desert bighorn sheep; who are frequently seen on the east side of Zion NP. Depending on individual abilities, we will hike out to Canyon Overlook; which offers a grand vista of Zion Canyon along an easy to moderate trail that is about 2 miles round trip.
There will be many opportunities to stop along the way and shoot awesome pictures of red rock country.
Pickup at your hotel in the greater St. George Utah area. Drive to Springdale Utah (or meet in Springdale Utah). We will travel through the park in a private vehicle and will pass through the Mt Carmel Tunnel.
