About a pittoresque peat moor village and medieval trade with a private guide
The city of Zwolle was a major player in the medieval Hanseatic trading union which was a cooperation of traders and cities along the North and East Sea shores. Its a story about wealth and success in the east of Holland, where the West of Holland was more into trade with the Orient. Zwolle gives you beautiful buildings and streets as a reminder of great prosperity related to a rich history. Experience the daily pace of life in a typical Dutch city that is not crowded with tourists.
The little water village of Giethoorn is often referred to as "Venice of the North. "
Small houses along small canals still witness the times when the piet moor was exploited. Harsh work in harsh conditions resulted in a now well preserved and lifely setting worth visiting. From poverty to prosperity the village displays itself in a setting that can be best described as a pleasant, picturesque, romantic and photogenic place.

Wilbert helped to make our trip to Holland a memorable one! Private day tour from Amsterdam to the beautiful, charming towns of Giethoorn & Deventer, which were absolutely wonderful to see and explore. It was especially nice to visit Deventer with Wilbert since this is his hometown. Conversation was super easy and fun — with a lot of laughs. Wilbert is an all-around great guy and has a ton of knowledge. It was a true pleasure from beginning to end, felt like you were traveling with a friend.
