Kid Friendly: Yes.

Friendly: No.
The tour can be adjusted to the needs of people with disabilities, however due to the steps, some of the locations within medieval Dubrovnik City Center (City Walls, Dominican Monastery, Cathedral, Church of St Blaise, Synagogue&Jewish Museum) would be difficult to reach for people using wheelchair or crutches. Sponza palace and the Franciscan Monastery are more easily accessible, but please note that there are also few steps at the entrance.

The Finest Private Tour!

The aim of the Dubrovnik Experience Tour is to introduce you to the 1400 years of Dubrovnik's history and explain how did the small merchant Dubrovnik Republic that could not afford to have a large standing army, managed to acquire the status of the third naval force in the Mediterranean during in its heyday.

We will thoroughly cover all the major and most important sites of medieval Old Town of Dubrovnik and you will be able to hear interesting anecdotes and intriguing legends that you will not find in the guidebooks.

Most importantly, I will also equip you with the essential information, not only about Dubrovnik's close and distant past, but also about its present, so that you can get the sense of Dubrovnik way of life and, hopefully, make you feel as one of the locals.

***This tour could be extended to include other places in Dubrovnik surroundings. For more information on the extended tour options and additional charges they might incur, please click on the BUTTON 'ASK A QUESTION'.

The tour will, among other impressive attractions, include the visit to majestic Dubrovnik City Walls. Since the tour is designed to last 3 hours, you will have a chance to decide whether you wish to climb the walls immediately upon arrival to the Old Town, or later after exploring the city.

As walking tour around the walls usually takes 1. 5-2 hours and requires certain effort, you may opt to cover only half of the walls and spend the rest of the time touring around the city.

Alternatively, there is a possibility to switch the wall walk for a visit to some of Dubrovnik's museums, such as the Franciscan Monastery's ancient pharmacy museum or Jewish heritage museum at Dubrovnik Synagogue, which is one of the oldest Sephardic synagogues in Europe.

We can also visit one of the artisan workshops for a demonstration of traditional craft or make a quick stop at one of Dubrovnik wine bars and sample few sorts of exquisite local wine.

Meeting Location + Tour Duration

Meeting location: Meeting location is usually at the Pile Gate (western entrance to Old Town of Dubrovnik).

The guide will be waiting near the tree on the right hand side just before the Pile Gate bridge that leads to the Old Town of Dubrovnik (near Dubravka restaurant and the splitska banka ATM)

End location: Old Town of Dubrovnik

Duration: 3 hours

Although this tour is estimated to last 3 hours, I am quite flexible with my time and can extend the tour upon clients' request with no extra charge, providing, of course, that I don't have any other tours scheduled immediately after this one.

The Old Town of Dubrovnik is a pedestrian zone and Dubrovnik Experience Tour is a walking tour.

Foot ware: Non-slip soles and comfortable shoes are important when walking over the cobbles and flagstones which can become slippery in damp or inclement weather.

A Recent Review of this tour

Our guide Tom was great and could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable. There were 8 of us including a wheelchair user, a 2 and a 4 yr old - cross that with a mini bus that needed parking and a city that we wanted to learn about and it's wasn't an easy ask - but he did it and we all left Dubrovnik feeling that we had seen and knew alot more than when we began. Also the Game of Thrones fans in the party were thrilled! So wonderful to see the city through the eyes of someone who knows it.
