Kid Friendly: Yes.

Friendly: No.
The tour can be adjusted to the needs of people with disabilities, however due to the steps, some of the locations within medieval Dubrovnik City Center (City Walls, Dominican Monastery, Cathedral, Church of St Blaise, Synagogue&Jewish Museum) would be difficult to reach for people using wheelchair or crutches. Sponza palace and the Franciscan Monastery are more easily accessible, but please note that there are also few steps at the entrance.

The Finest Private Tour!

The aim of the Dubrovnik Experience Tour is to introduce you to the 1400 years of Dubrovnik's history and explain how did the small merchant Dubrovnik Republic that could not afford to have a large standing army, managed to acquire the status of the third naval force in the Mediterranean during in its heyday.

We will thoroughly cover all the major and most important sites of medieval Old Town of Dubrovnik and you will be able to hear interesting anecdotes and intriguing legends that you will not find in the guidebooks.

Most importantly, I will also equip you with the essential information, not only about Dubrovnik's close and distant past, but also about its present, so that you can get the sense of Dubrovnik way of life and, hopefully, make you feel as one of the locals.

Itinerary

The tour is designed to last 3 hours, during which we can climb the City Walls of Dubrovnik and cover some other landmarks in the Old Town.

As walking tour around the walls usually takes 1. 5-2 hours and requires certain effort, you may opt to skip the wall walk and spend the time touring other attractions around the city.

Instead of the City Walls we can organize a visit to some of Dubrovnik's museums, such as the Franciscan Monastery's ancient pharmacy museum or Jewish heritage museum at Dubrovnik Synagogue, which is one of the oldest Sephardic synagogues in Europe.

We can also visit one of the artisan workshops for a demonstration of traditional craft, cover the filming points from the Game of Thrones or make a stop at one of Dubrovnik wine bars and sample few sorts of exquisite local wine.

Meeting Point + Tour Duration

Meeting Point Options: Suggested by Guide: Meeting location is usually at the Pile Gate (western entrance to Old Town of Dubrovnik). The guide will be waiting near the tree on the right hand side just before the Pile Gate bridge that leads to the Old Town of Dubrovnik (near Dubravka restaurant and the splitska banka ATM)

End Point Options: Suggested by Guide: Wherever the tour takes us within the Old Town

Duration: 3 hours

Although this tour is estimated to last 3 hours, I am quite flexible with my time and can extend the tour upon clients' request with no extra charge, providing, of course, that I don't have any other tours scheduled immediately after this one.

Transportation

The Old Town of Dubrovnik is a pedestrian zone and Dubrovnik Experience Tour is a walking tour.

Foot ware: Non-slip soles and comfortable shoes are important when walking over the cobbles and flagstones which can become slippery in damp or inclement weather.

What’s Included

Other: 3-hour guided walking tour around the Old Town of Dubrovnik by a licensed tourist guide.

Generally the tour can be composed of two parts:
a/ visit to Dubrovnik City Walls (approximate duration 1.5 hours)
b/ walking tour around the streets of the Old Town (another 1.5 hours)

Since the City Walls visit would require a bit more strenuous climb (there are 1100 steps on the City Walls) this 3-hour tour can be rearranged to include some other landmarks instead of the City Walls.

The choice of the itinerary depends entirely on clients' own preferences. Instead of the Walls we can visit few local museums, cover the filming points from the Game of Thrones or spend some time sampling few local sorts of wine at genuine Dubrovnik wine bar.
