Off the beaten paths

This tour has been created for those who would like to have a truly traditional Dubrovnik area experience and to escape from the crowd. Enjoying off the beaten paths while listening about this area history and tradition is a unique experience in Dubrovnik. During the tour you will have a great opportunity to enjoy some beautiful panoramic views while driving through the small villages and to hear a lot about history of this area if you are interested in, especially while visiting the small, medieval town of Ston with its fortification system, salt panels and medieval architecture.
This is also great opportunity to visit some local wineries on the peninsula Pelješac where you can do wine tastings, or to enjoy some local restaurants on the sea side or in traditional, local villages, completely up to your preferences. . .
So if you are interested to meet some locals, hear about their way of life, try traditional, local food and wine, and all of that out of crowd, feel free to contact me. . .

Pick up at any preferred location in Dubrovnik. Drive out of the City towards "Primorje" area, through the villages like "Trsteno" with the oldest arboretum in Europe and other small villages known of their olive groves. A few stops to enjoy panoramic view of Elaphite islands.
Next stop in" bay inside the bay " or BISTRINA bay, known of the best Croatian oyster farms. A local oyster farmer is going to take us by hiss vessel to the oyster farm ( if the weather conditions allows, in case of very bad weather we will see the presentation from the shore ). Welcome drink, presentation of the oyster growing process and oyster tasting.
Brief walk in medieval town of "Ston".
After Ston we can try traditional PEKA meal in very traditional ambient in local village ( needs confirmation 2 days in advance ) or drive through Croatian wine empire, peninsula Pelješac to visit local wineries, or you can have your meal break in local sea food restaurants on the sea side in Ston or Zaton bay. . .
Return back to Dubrovnik.

A Recent Review of this tour

This was our favorite day in Croatia! This tour was the ultimate experience for anyone who enjoys oysters, wine, local foods and traditions, and delightful people. Darko was flexible with our interests when designing the day. He showed us the beautiful countryside and towns outside of Dubrovnik. Darko is fun to be with as well as being very knowledgeable and informative.
