A story of Dubrovnik before, during and after the war in '90's
During this tour, I will take you to Old town center. We will visit some of the most beautiful places in my hometown. This tour is mainly focused on modern history, to be precisely early 90's.
Dubrovnik surfed several damages during history, mainly by earthquakes and fire but it has never been destroyed by a man, until 1991.
The war began on October 1 with aerial attacks, the Yugoslavian army bombarded the water source, power lines, telecommunications- Dubrovnik was left in dark, for months.
The worst attack happened at early morning on December 6th, when Serbs and Montenegrin's bombarded city from all sides. For nearly 12 hours City was under intensive attack, 68% had been struck by shells and on that day alone 13 civilians lost their lives. The price of reconstruction and repair was estimated at US$10million.
On this tour, we'll cover what led to an end of Yugoslavia, homeland war and life after it.
