Bozidar J.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dear traveller, My name is Bozidar. I was born and raised in Dubrovnik and am now making my living celebrating my hometown, relishing its local culture and trying to get others to fall in love with it themselves. 2018 will be my 13th year in Dubrovnik's tourism and while I wasn't always a tour guide (I got my license at the beginning of 2015), I did work with guests directly throughout my career.

2018 will be my 13th year in Dubrovnik's tourism and while I wasn't always a tour guide (I got my license at the beginning of 2015), I did work with guests directly throughout my career. I always found meeting new people and interacting with them to be the most rewarding part of my work.

During my formal education, I attained a Ba in Hotel Management. Later on I successfully acquired Dubrovnik Local Tour Guide License for English language, as well as WSET Level 2 sommelier degree (I am currently enrolled in Level 3). I also spent three years starting and running a restaurant in Dubrovnik (still a family business) and have researched local food and traditions tied to it. My favourite things, besides my work, are travelling and writing and I'm proud to be a published columnist and blogger.

My main focus in my work are wine tours, history and local culture tours, and food tours. In fact, with many of my guests, these things end up being interconnected creating a more detailed image of a historical destination. Aside from all of the above, I am an avid movie buff which means I do Game of Thrones filming locations tours, but am also starting Star Wars filming locations tours (Star Wars The Last Jedi was filmed in Dubrovnik).

Dubrovnik is a place of incredible history which is not only well-recorded, but also serves as a constant reminder of some of the timeless values that any society can profit from. Because of its geographical location, the city has experienced times of great success as well as those of great toil. Today, the city is a living community and its people follow a new way of life worth exploring as well. Regardless of whether you choose me as your guide or what tour you decide to do, don't rob yourself of a chance to get at least a glimpse into the heart and soul of this ancient city. You will want to come back.

A Recent Review of this guide

Bozidar was so good looking and handsome and kind and very knowledgeable. He was the best guide I've ever had and would suggest him to anyone who wants someone who is flexible and gracious with his time. He made it worth our while. Loved him!
