An Intimate Tour of West Dublin, Kildare and Clonmacnoise
A seven-hour tour of the special places west of Dublin with a mix of ancient citadels, monastic settlements and the heart of Ireland's blood stock industry. A must for those with an interest in all things horses
- The National Stud.
- The Curragh of Kildare
- The Rock of Dún na Maise, stronghold of the ancient Kings of Leinster.
We will also visit a typical 16th-Century Castle for a cup of tea and a short talk by the farmer about the castle and its role in Irish History. Lunch in Furey's restaurant alongside the eighteenth century Grand Canal.
Collection at venue of clients choice and visit to ancient monastic city on the river shannon at Clonmacnoise. Then we will have lunch in an old tavern on the Grand Canal before visiting the Curragh, Irelands horse Racing headquarters as well as the National Stud where many of the worlds finest bloodstock are bred.
We will then visit an ancient castle with an explaination of its history by the resident farmer and a cup of tea with the farmers wife in her kitchen. From then its onto the seat of the Kings of Leinster, the ancient citadel of Dun na Maise before drop off to venue of the clients choice.
