In the morning we depart to Thuburbo Majus . The city was originally a Punic colony. Romans started to build their settlements here in 27 BC. Most of the town was built around 150 - 200 AD.
The site is very much worth the visit, with its attractive Capitol, its several fine mosaic floors and the striking colors of its columns. I' am sure you will like it.
After lunch we head to Dougga "the best-preserved Roman town in North Africa".
Many of its monuments are unique of their type particularly the theatre, the capitolium of Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva, the Lybico-Punic mausoleum, the Temple of Caelestis and the Bath of the Cyclopses.
