The seat of the political power of Venice
Venice in the past Centuries was a powerful, independent country.
Thanks to their ability in diplomacy, trades and businesses, the Venetians in few Centuries where able to become one of the richest countries of Europe.
The wonderful architectures which surround the Piazza San Marco are there to testify the Wealth, the Power, the Magnificence of the Serenissima Republic of Venice.
The Palazzo Ducale (the Doge's Palace) was the seat of the government until 1797, when Venice was conquered by Napoleon.
Into the Palace you will see the grandiose halls of the Parliament and the Senate, the solemn rooms where Justice was administered, and you will cross the famous Bridge of Sighs, to go to the fearful state prisons. You will admire the golden staircase, and the important works of art, representative of the glories of the Republic.
The Basilica of St Mark's was in the past the chapel of the Palace, and it will surprise you with its treasures and the thousands square feet of shiny mosaics.
From the chosen meeting point, we will go to the Piazza San Marco, where I will explain you the Square and all the monuments around it.
We will enter the Saint Mark's Basilica, where you will admire the wonderful Byzantine mosaics and the beautiful marbles in it.
Then, using my pass to skip the line, we will enter the Palazzo Ducale (the Doge's Palace), the former seat of the venetian government, which will impress you with its huge halls, important artworks, dark prisons.

She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely went away with great knowledge and understanding of Venice. Had 16 and 18 year old girls along with us and they loved it. Would definitely come back to her
