The archaeological excavations and the first Europeans
In 1991 in Dmanisi, which is about 80 kilometers from Tbilisi, the Georgian archaeologists and paleontologists have discovered the remains of the so-called "rectified man", whose age is close to two million years. French anthropologists, examining skeletons, restored to their original appearance and gave them Georgian names:a woman Mzia and a man Zezva. By a unanimous decision of the scientific community, a couple was named "first Europeans" because their remains are the oldest to be discovered in Europe. The settlement of Dmanisi awaits us, with its Archaeological Museum(open from May to October), including the picturesque ruins of the castle , Sioni Church(7th c. ) and really nice landscapes.

Ivane did everything possible to make this a memorable day at Dmanisi and he succeeded. He was professional and attentive and extraordinarily helpful. His English is superior and he is a careful driver - something most necessary in Georgia! I recommend him and his services enthusiastically.
