Dhaka was famous for its finest Muslin cotton in the world, but came to limelight during the Mughal era as the capital of Bengal; the city has remains of Mughal establishments, buildings from the British Kingdome and the legacy of the Kings of Dhaka. Dhaka was build by the river Buriganga during Mughals now called Old Dacca. At resent Dhaka became a mega city. But still old part of the Dhaka has its own beauties as a living museum.
At present Dhaka is a megacity and home of about 2 million people.
In the morning will met you at your hotel lobby or Airport. Today we will explore the capital city of Bangladesh covering Parliament building, Dhaka university area, Sahid Minar, the birth place of International mother language day, Curzon Hall, Dhakeshwari the oldest Hindu temple of the town, Lalbagh Mughal fort (closed on SUN)/National Museum (Closed on Thursday), Star Mosque, Armenian Church, National Parliament building of famous architect, Louis I. Kahn. Also visit Sadarghat river front, Mother Teresa orphanage/Ahsan Manzil -the palace of Dhaka Kings (Closed on Thursday), Hindu street (Closed on Fridays) etc. Will enjoy a fascinating Rickshaw Ride at old part of Dhaka. Will drop you at your place/Airport late in the afternoon.
