Finola is my name, a descendant from the great Irish Chieftain family "The O' Neill's".
Derry 'Born and Bred'.
I am a Professional Accredited Tourist Guide, looking forward to you visiting my beautiful city and taking with you wonderful memories to share back home on a safe, secure Tour!
The Town I Love so well, my home stead, Derry~Londonderry~Doire~Maiden City~Legenderry, a city with so many names, it's the contradictions that make my city such an intriguing and enjoyable place to visit.
Dating back to the 6th century, our city is the oldest continually inhabited place in Ireland. A place that has been a haven for piety and poetry for 15 centuries, from St. Columba to Seamus Heaney our Irish Poet and Nobel Prize recipient in 1995, who is regarded as the most important Irish poet since W. B. Yeats.
My tour covers the most documented siege in the British Military History Book that took place 1688-1689.
A departure point for paupers and presidents in the 19th century, and the home of the Allied Fleet during the Battle of the Atlantic in WW2 (1941), emigration and the last 40years of conflict, and all aspects of modern political history throughout the troubles including Bloody Sunday.
Today, it is a city infused with a sense optimism after its turbulent recent past;
'A butterfly emerging from a chrysalis of conflict'.
So come along and join me and our wonderful people in our celebrations of a brighter future for our city!
'A City with a new story to tell'!
