I have many years of customer service experience and believe the client deserves top quality for their money. I'm enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable about the areas I offer to show you around. I like to take you off the beaten path in Rocky Mountain National Park to little known areas and the history behind some of those areas.
I'm also a photographer and I love photographing nature, especially the mountains but also the city too. As such, I know some great areas that will provide you not only the iconic views for your own photography, but also other magnificent and picturesque views locals are more familiar with. There are many terrific spots we can go or I can even recommend for you during other times of your trip.
I'm energetic and happy to take on a nice hike with you, I'm also quite used to arriving at a destination before sunrise to capture that incredible event so I'm flexible with timing. I know some fantastic places in the city of Denver, if that's more your cup of tea, as well. Overall, I enjoy taking people to places that inspire jaw dropping reactions.
Don't hesitate to request an early tour, I am happy to meet as early as 4 am and depending upon the destination, it may be a requirement as many parks fill up on available parking as early as 6-7 am. Especially during high tourist season in the summer months. I also strongly recommend dressing in layers, especially in the mountains though it is helpful in the city too.
I'm not a skier so I probably wouldn't be your best bet for that type of activity/tour but other mountain tours I'm happy to provide. We can look for moose, elk, bears and more!
Reach out today, let's go find some great places to show you and help you create some fabulous memories! Take out the burden of planning the details, let me handle that for you :)
Warnings, Disclaimer: Climbing hills and mountains is a dangerous and sometimes demanding activity. Some steep ground, exposed rock, and cliffs - which are a feature of the mountains - bring a serious risk of injury from a slip or a fall. In addition, there are other risks; strong winds or other conditions can develop; loose rocks can fall or underlying health conditions can be triggered by strenuous exercise. While I highlight some particular dangers, it is not possible to list them all. Therefore, all clients are warned to take reasonable precautions before setting out and are following the recommendations and safety instructions of the tour guide. Know your own physical limitations and abilities. Tour guide will not be responsible for any loss or injury.
Respect the environment. No littering! You take it in, you take it back out as well. No pets are allowed on trails in RMNP. Do not enter areas that are marked restricted and respect the fragile tundra by remaining on the trails. Remember, mountains have shortened seasons, the footprint you leave now may take 50+ years to be erased. Or that plant/flower you pick may not return for 25 years due to a 6-8 week growing season per year, or less.
A Recent Review of this guide
The tour was enjoyable and Rachel was a delight easy to talk to and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. We just wanted a flavor of Denver for an afternoon and is what we got. I would say that if someone wanted to take a tour and wants to know what the many structures were Rachel will have to do some studying.
