Hamlet's Castle and Renaissance Beauty with a private guide
We visit Hamlet's Castile (Kronborg) and Frederiksborg Castle.
We start the day with a pretty train ride up the Danish coast, through forests and alongside the sea arriving at Helsingor, and Kronborg castle about an hour later. Kronborg was the home of not only Shakespeare's Prince Hamlet but also the source of the wealth of the Danish Kings for hundreds of years.
We will take a 15 minute stroll through historic Helsingør, an important town from the 12th century. After Kronborg, we will take a leisurely stroll back through Helsingor to the train station. There will be time for lunch.
Next we take The Pig, a local train through some lovely countryside to Hillerod, the home of Frederiksborg Castle
Frederiksborg Castle is one of Europe's most beautiful Renaissance castles. We journey through over 400 hundred years of history discovering how the King's of Denmark lived and (in some cases) loved.
