See my favourites in Copenhagen architecture and Danish design during this private tour
Looking at a city through its architecture -- at a people through its design -- and with those lenses; looking at history is my personal favourite as a guide. This is how I combine all my education, experience and interest. With humility I dare say that this makes for great stories.
Danish design is something a lot of people ask about when they come to Denmark. It is famous and is indeed a bit of a mystery - how could such a tiny region as Scandinavia gain such influence throughout Western aesthetics?
This tour will give some answers while still serving as a great introduction to Copenhagen and Denmark. We will look at some of the most thought-through buildings in the city and I'll point out sights and museums for you to continue exploring after our tour.
There is time for refreshments, photo stops and your questions.
We will tailor your tour according to your wishes but here is a suggested itinerary we can work from:
Starting out in the heart of Copenhagen, we will investigate the beginning of Scandinavian modernity when we visit the city court and the cathedral.
Meandering through the old part of town, I will point out the most interesting design shops for you to visit later.
The National Bank, the bike bridges, The Playhouse.
Walking through the royal part of town will bring us to The Design Museum where we'll have lunch and get to feel and experience Danish design.
After a solid visit, we will walk through one of the most quaint neighbourhoods to get to The King's Garden; such a delightfully crafted park.
Experiencing some of the newest in urban planning and architecture, we will pass through the busiest part of the city before we end the tour at the market halls - perhaps with hipster coffee and rustic Danish pastry?
