Green fields, great food and wide vistas! Experience with a local, private guide
Leaving the city behind for two full days, we will explore the Danish countryside and coast on this private tour. South of Copenhagen is an archipelago famous for its local produce; great soil and mild climate makes the area perfect for apples, beets and dairy.
Along the way, we will stop at Stevns Cliff (UNESCO World Heritage), on up to six islands, in impossibly charming small villages, at some great restaurants, the art project Dodekalitten, and a lovely hotel.
If you are curious, we can visit places making great produce. I recommend a dairy farm and an orchard but the choices are many (and tough!): Cherry wine? Chocolate? Hard rock candy? Honey? Mustard? Mushrooms? Beer? Ice cream? Yarn?
I will tailor this tour according to your curiosity - we can focus on sampling food, on seeing as many pretty spots as possible, on historical sites or on sustainability which the farmers are fast becoming experts at.
I am in love with this part of Denmark, so contact me to learn more about this summer adventure!
First, we will stop at Stevns Cliff (UNESCO World Heritage). If you feel adventurous, we can walk down to the beach and look up at limestone cliffs offering exceptional evidence of life through 65 million years!
Stopping on some of the small islands in the Southern archipelago to enjoy the quintessentially Danish landscape and villages, both days will be designed according to what we have planned together; which locations YOU wish to explore.
Arriving at a jewel of a hotel (owned in part by the chef Claus Meyer who recently earned Michelin stars for his New York restaurants), an evening of fantastic food based on local produce and a stroll in the cosy town awaits.
On the second day, there are two places you just have to see: The art project Dodekalitten (it's like a modern day version of Stonehenge) and my favourite, super quaint village.
When we return to Copenhagen, I am sure you'll feel full of life, adventure and knowledge of Denmark.

Estimated Local Cash Needed
250 DKK - If we visit local farms or markets, it can be a good idea to bring some cash. At restaurants etc. we can use credit cards but if you plan on buying local produce and/or souvenirs, 250 DKK would buy you plenty of awesome stuff!
I am not a driver guide but can arrange transport + driver or use public transport and/or taxis for tours.

Another great tours by local trip. Sofie designed a tour just for us including a terrific local lunch. By the end of the day it felt like I had made another friend in Denmark. Our driver, Niels was also great, responsive to questions within his purview like driving signs. He also found us some unexpected stops such as an ATM. The two work well together.
