D-Day sites to be remembered


Visit the sites that made history, on June 6th 1944 the US Airborne dropped from the skies to meet their destiny and change history for the better we will visit the famous town of Sainte-Mere Eglise then followed by D-Day's 2nd most dangerous mission : Pointe-du-Hoc we will go to Omaha Beach
known as " Bloody Omaha" and finish the tour by paying our respects to the fallen American soldiers who gave their lives at the American Military cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer.
(If we have time I'll gladly add more stop if time permits)

Itinerary

Sainte Mère Eglise

First village liberated by US Airborne forces. Hear about the story of the paratrooper who got caught on the church steeple.

Hedgerow stop
Find out how 8th century agricultural technics made a 20th century army's movement almost come to a halt and how we over came it. .

Utah Beach (If not enough time, this stop will be skipped)

Pointe-du-Hoc

D-day's most dangerous mission where U. S. Rangers scaled 100 ft. high cliffs

Omaha Beach

Learn how it got it's name "Bloody Omaha", 3600 casualties in the first 3 hours

Omaha Beach Memorial museum visit*

Visit of US Military Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer

Meeting location: At cruise ship terminal with sign that has the name that was used for the reservation of tour.

End location: At the cruise ship terminal

Duration: 8 hours

Depending on when your cruise ship arrives in Port we will be able to see everything, if you have time issues ONLY Sainte Mere Eglise, Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and US Military cemetery will be seen, along with a "hedgerow explanation"
