The story of Washington D. C. is also the story of the beginning of a new nation. Its very existence is linked to the efforts of people such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton. Today, its memorials and buildings are part of our American identity and remind us of the important moments in our common history. These are the stories that inspire me and these are the stories I want to share.
Washington is easy to love - the world's most powerful city is also one of the world's most beautiful - wide avenues, old neighborhoods, gardens, tree-lined streets. I think George Washington would be very pleased to see what became of the place he chose to be the new Federal City.
My association with ToursByLocals has given me the opportunity to meet wonderful and interesting people from all over the world. My "Hamilton" tour has attracted families with kids who are crazy about the Broadway show and could recite the the entire score by heart. The entire ToursByLocals experience has been amazing.

Joanne was a wonderful tour guide. I recommend her to anyone. It was very hot and humid when my family had our tour(4th of july). She went out of her way to find us in the big city. Great communication and she eased my mind. I was extremely nervous in the big city being a mom of 3 (15, 11,10) Joanne wasn't just a regular tour guide, she became a friend to my family. I will definitely book another tour with Joanne...We loved our experience with her and overly joyed I got a chance to meet such a lovely lady
