The story of Washington D. C. is also the story of the beginning of a new nation. Its very existence is linked to the efforts of people such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton. Today, its memorials and buildings are part of our American identity and remind us of the important moments in our common history. These are the stories that inspire me and these are the stories I want to share.
Washington is easy to love - the world's most powerful city is also one of the world's most beautiful - wide avenues, old neighborhoods, gardens, tree-lined streets. I think George Washington would be very pleased to see what became of the place he chose to be the new Federal City.
My association with ToursByLocals has given me the opportunity to meet wonderful and interesting people from all over the world. My "Hamilton" tour has attracted families with kids who are crazy about the Broadway show and could recite the the entire score by heart. The entire ToursByLocals experience has been amazing.

We had a wonderful time on our tour. It was short but I feel we hit all the places we could in the time allotted. Joanne was so nice and Sam (the driver) was awesome too. She customized it completely and took us to a wonderful street with food trucks, the Peruvian truck was a highlight because I LOVE food. The personal attention she gave us at Arlington Cemetery meant the world to us. I hope you're saying hi to Kay when you tour there, pretty lady! Would highly recommend Joanne for any tour of Washington.
