Diocletian palace and Old town Split tour and historical complex of UNESCO town Trogir
Welcome to the UNESCO protected town Split! Split is the biggest city on the Croatian coast and one of the most historical cities on the Mediterranean. After a short introduction to the city of Split we will start our 30 minute drive to the town of Trogir.
Trogir is a charming little town founded by the Greeks. It has been declared one of the world's most beautiful little towns and protected by UNESCO. It boasts the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic but in all of Central Europe.
Both in Split and Trogir there are lots of wonderful small restaurants serving Dalmatian - Mediterranean food - fish, lobsters, calamari, etc. and also pizza, meet and pasta restaurants.
On the way back to Split we will explore the UNESCO town and emperor Diocletian's palace. We will walk through the palace fortifications and gates, see the historical square Peristyle, visit Jewish ghetto, admire Split's seafront - Riva - and see the oldest cathedral building in the world!
