La Serena and Coquimbo Tour, a relaxing time
Welcome to the fourth region of Chile!
La Serena and Coquimbo are such beautiful cities in which you can find both entertaining and relaxing time; these cities are known for being one of the top tourist's destinations of Chile.
Coquimbo is a port city, it is known for having great beaches and important monuments, like The Fort of Coquimbo, a fortification created in 1879 to defend the city against the Peruvians, in the Pacific War; and the Third Millennium Cross, from where you can get a breath-taking view of Coquimbo and La Serena.
La Serena is known for its unique colonial architecture; it also has a picturesque typical Market of La Recova, in which you can buy traditional handicraft and Chilean papayas, a special fruit of our region.

What a terrific tour to Coquimbo and La Serena , the popular resort town 12 km away. Pamela showed us the rocky shoreline filled with birds, like Bird Rock then took us to the largest Cross in South America. Fascinating building with terrific views. The short trip to La Serena brought us to its colourful market. At lunch we sampled fresh fish and had our first Pisco sour, the local favourite drink. An exciting day provided by Pamela in an A/C van. Forget the ship and its excursion buses.
