Explore all the classic parts of Copenhagen on this custom-designed tour
On this tour we will explore all the main sights of central Copenhagen. We will explore the medieval part of town, as well as the the northern part where we'll see such thing as Amalienborg where the queen lives, the Marble church, the iconic Nyhavn (New Harbour), the Gefion fountain and the little Mermaid.
On a more thematic level, we will explore the origins of Copenhagen, the era of the powerful kings, the reformation, the development of democracy, the harbour and not least the modern life as it takes place in this old city, be it architectural high-lights or the biking culture.
Slotsholmen - the "birthplace of Copenhagen" with the Royal Library, Christiansborg (the Danish parliament) and more
Nyhavn - 'New Harbour'
Amalienborg - the Queen's castle
Copenhagen Harbour with views to the Opera, etc.
Kongens Nytorv - 'King's new square'
Strøget - at the outset in 1962 the longest pedestrian walk in the world
Church of our Lady - Copenhagen's most important church and the starting place of Lutheran reformation in Denmark
Gammeltorv/Nytorv - 'Old square/New square' - the heart of medieval Copenhagen
Round Tower - The 400 year old astronomical observatory (from the outside).
Kongens Have - "King's garden" - with Rosenbrog Slot
Lunch (or dinner if late), for example at a traditional Danish "smørrebrød" place
We will adjust the tour to fit your needs, and normally we find time to further explore things you like on the way (and according to weather), such as Rosenborg (crown jewels), Christiansborg Tower, the Royal reception rooms, a little shopping break or a harbour boat ride
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: As you prefer - a hotel in the center or Vesterbro district is good. If the meeting place is outside the central areas (like cruise ship, airport or Bella Sky/Crowne Palace hotels, we will need a little part of the time for transport, perhaps even local transport, but I will do my best to make it a rewarding time.
End location: To be agreed upon. I could leave you and your hotel, but it could also be in a nice shopping area, by a museum or by Tivoli Gardens (where I can get one of you in on my ticket).
Duration: 6 hours
Central Copenhagen is best done by walking since things are close to each other, and we save the hassle of parking and getting in and out the car. If the pick up place is not in central station, we could consider taking public transportation or a taxi to reach the central area.
Your guide's experience and knowledge of the city.
A personal printed guide to the Vesterbro district with its best cafés, restaurant and bars to be explored after your tour.
A personal guide on "suggestions on what to do after a tour with me"!
A map of the city.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
200 DKK - You don't really need any local cash as all things can be paid for by international credit cards. Visa and Mastercard are good, but not always American Express or Diner's Club and sometimes card without a chip get rejected, but if we should encounter problems, I can pay and you pay me back in your currency.
If we would like transportation like harbour bus, bike taxi etc, that's extra.
Tickets to sights that costs fees (not necessary)

Jens happily accommodated a family of 5 (2 grandparents, parents, grandchild aged 5) for a 4 hour walking tour (and lunch) hitting the highlights and including things of interest for the child. He also provided excellent advice for things to do "post-Jens". As a Copenhagen native, he is knowledgable, charming, and very flexible. Highly recommended
