Explore the "must-see's" of inner Copenhagen at this concentrated tour
On this tour we will explore the most significant parts of inner Copenhagen. We will mostly be in the medieval part of town - and see a few things on the outside such as Amalienborg where the queen lives, the Marble church and the iconic Nyhavn (New Harbour).
We will explore the origins of Copenhagen, the era of the powerful kings, the reformation, the birth of democracy and not least the modern life as it takes place in this old city, be it architectural high-lights or the biking culture.
We wil custom design the walk to fit your needs (including need for a café stop if you like), but below are the things I would recommend us to see:
Christiansborg - the Danish parliament and birthplace of Copenhagen
Nyhavn - 'New Harbour', the 400 year idyllic canal with its colorful houses and lively scene
Amalienborg - the Queen's castle
Copenhagen Harbour with views to the Opera, the naval area, etc.
Kongens Nytorv - 'King's new square' with the finest 18C buildings in Copenhagen
Strøget - at the outset in 1962 the longest pedestrian walk in the world, and now the busy artery of Copenhagen
Church of our Lady - Copenhagen's most important church and the birth of Lutheran reformation in Denmark
Gammeltorv/Nytorv - 'Old square/New square' - the heart of medieval Copenhagen
Round Tower - The 400 year old astronomical observatory (from the outside).
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: As you prefer - a hotel in the center or Vesterbro district is good. If the meeting place is outside the central areas (like cruise ship, airport or Bella Sky/Crowne Palace hotels, we will need a little part of the time for transport, perhaps even local transport, but I will do my best to make it a rewarding time.
End location: I can either leave you at your hotel (in the central area), in a nice, traditional Danish restaurant for lunch or dinner or in the central area with cafés and good shopping.
Duration: 3 hours
Central Copenhagen is best done by walking since things are close to each other, and we save the hassle of parking and getting in and out the car. If the pick up place is not in central station, we could consider taking public transportation or a taxi to reach the central area.
Your guide's experience and knowledge of the city.
A personal printed guide to the Vesterbro district with its best cafés, restaurant and bars to be explored after your tour.
A personal guide on "suggestions on what to do after a tour with me"!
A map of the city.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
150 DKK - This is for snack or lunch to your preference for your information. You don't really need any local cash as all things can be paid for by international credit cards. Visa and Mastercard are good, but not always American Express or Diner's Club, and sometimes card without a chip get rejected, but if we should encounter problems, I can pay and you pay me back in your currency.
If you would like to stop for a coffee, water or an ice cream on the way that would be extra. Also add some extra if your pick up place and end place is not in situated in central Copenhagen and we should take public transportation or taxi.
I will not drive myself but hire a driver and van (or accompany you in your vehicle) on the tours that requires driving. (Both for insurance reasons and because I like to focus on the guiding).

Jens was a phenomenal guide. He did a great job of covering a lot of ground, but also giving various members of our group the option of only doing part of the tour due to jet lag. The chocolates were a nice touch as well! If you can go on a tour with Jens, do it. You won't regret it.
