Explore Danish royalty

Denmark is the oldest kingdom in the world and Queen Margrethe's family tree dates back to the Viking king Gorm the Old who died in 959. Even though Denmark is a modern democracy, the monarchy is more popular than ever.

On our city walk, you will learn more about the old Danish monarchy and the present royal family. On our tour, you will see Amalienborg Palace and Christiansborg Palace.

Most important, we will have an inside visit at the renaissance castle Rosenborg set in The Kings Garden. Rosenborg Castle was built by one of the most famous Scandinavian kings, Christian IV, in the early 17th century and it features 400 years of splendor, royal art treasures and the Crown Jewels and Royal Regalia.

Itinerary

On our city walk, you will see Amalienborg Palace, the winter residence of Queen Margrethe and also home of our Crown Prince and his wife. We will visit the Copenhagen Cathedral where they were married.

We will also walk to the Christiansborg Palace, which houses the Danish Parliament and the Royal Reception Rooms. If time permits, we will take the elevator up in the castle tower and enjoy the view of the oldest part of the city.
