Discover the oldest kingdom in the world with a private guide

On this trip by car to North Zealand, we will drive along the scenic Strandvejen (Beach Road) and through the green landscape of North Zealand. In the town Fredensborg, we will make a photo stop by the beautiful baroque Fredensborg Palace, used as a residential palace by Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik during spring and autumn.

We will continue to the town Hillerød for an inside visit at Frederiksborg Castle. This 400 year old castle now houses The Museum of National History. You will no doubt enjoy the impressive Castle Church, the Audience Room and the The Knight's Hall. If time permits, we will also stroll through the beautiful Baroque Gardens and see the cascades before heading back to Copenhagen.

Itinerary

On this trip by car to North Zealand, we will drive along the scenic Strandvejen (Beach Road) also known as Denmark's Riviera. We will make a short stop in one of the cozy old fishing villages before we continue through the green landscape of North Zealand.

In the town Fredensborg, we will make a photo stop by the baroque Fredensborg Palace, used as a residential palace by Queen Margrethe during spring and autumn. The Palace was built by King Frederik 4th in the early 18th century as a hideaway place for him and his new wife Anne Sophie.

Next stop is in the town Hillerød for an inside visit at Frederiksborg Castle and a stroll through the beautiful Baroque Gardens. The renaissance castle was built 400 years ago as a status symbol by King Christian 4th. Most of the castle now houses The Museum of National History. You will no doubt enjoy the impressive Castle Church, the Audience Room and the The Knight's Hall.

During the trip, we will have lunch in a local inn and I recommend trying 'Smørrebrød'.
