Welsh Culture & History
Drive through the northern area of Snowdonia National Park to the wonderful medieval town of Conwy located on the mouth of the estuary. A totally walled castle town. Built in 1287 by Edward I Conwy Castle never ceases to impress - the castle is magnificent and it is easy to walk the towers and garrison. Then a walk down to the pretty harbour and start walking around the town along the walls - until we reach an impeccably restored medieval merchant's mansion built around 1577. The structure and plasterwork are incredible.
This tour could also be changed to include a visit to our national trust "Bodnant Gardens" - the creation of these outstanding gardens was commenced in the 1850's with some of the tallest sequoias outside the USA. For garden lovers this is a not to be missed outing.

Pauline gave us a very good tour of the Conwy and North Wales including the Snowdonia area. She was very knowledgeable about the sites and the area. Inspired us to make other plans to visit more of the region. Places I hadn't thought of. I find Tours by Locals a very good way to get to really know a region or site. You can just learn so much about the area but by being with someone local you get so much more out of the experience. Thank you Pauline..
