We start the day with a walk in the old historical area of Constanta where we explore the city's ancient past visiting the local Archaeological Museum and explore some of the legends that have made this city famous throughout its two millennia history. Highlights include the Casino and the Black Sea promenade, the Orthodox Cathedral and Turkish Mosque, the Genovese Lighthouse and Tomis Marina, Ovid's Square and Ovid's statue.
We stop for a food tasting session in one of the many restaurants in the colorful Ovid's Square, where we also get to taste some of the local beer. *
In the end, we drive to Mamaia, the most famous beach and holiday resort of Romania for an idea of the many attractions the city has to offer and end the day shopping or just relaxing on the beach.
* food tasting implies sampling various types of traditional Romanian dishes. Though not in big quantity, variety will be plentiful, so the food tasting qualifies as light lunch. Please write and let me know about various dietary constraints.
