Boat, Hiking, Pony & Trap Tour of The Gap of Dunloe and Killarney's Lakes
Taking this tour by boat, hiking or Pony and Trap is one of the great classic day tours through Killarney's three Lakes followed by The Gap of Dunloe mountain pass.
At the 15th century Ross Castle on the shores of Lough Leane and a short distance from Killarney town centre a local traditional boatman will take us aboard his boat and set off on the 12 mile boat trip through the Lakes of Killarney to Lord Brandon's Cottage, the site of an old hunting lodge.
During the boat trip you will pass through Bricin Bridge, The Meetings of the Waters, Dinis Cottage and The Eagle's Nest before arriving at Lord Brandon's for lunch.
After lunch we will start our journey by foot or on a traditional Pony & Trap through The Black Valley and the world renowned Gap of Dunloe. These mountain passes are glacial valleys with Ireland's highest mountains, the MacGillycuddy Reeks away to the west.
Your journey will come to an end when we arrive at Kate Kearney's Cottage at the bottom of The Gap for a welcome fireside drink.
