A perfect itinerary for first-time visitors to Florence who also want to see the original David
This walking tour of the city also includes an internal visit to the Accademia Gallery to see Michelangelo's original David in all of its breathtaking glory. The rest of our stroll will comprise Florence's must-see sites, including the city's religious heart with its amazing Gothic Cathedral and Baptistery and the Piazza della Signoria, the city's political hub, just to name two locations of the many we'll visit. While this tour can be considered very "classic" in that it will introduce you to Florence's most iconic sites and monuments, what won't be "classic" is the perspective from which you'll be approaching the subjects, since you'll be seeing them through the eyes of a true Florentine who knows the story of every single stone of her beloved city and has a passion for sharing the history. Even if you've taken a walking tour of Florence before, I'm sure you'll see it differently with me.
Our three-hour stroll along a route filled with the fantastic sites and rich history of Florence will begin and end at your doorstep and includes an internal visit to the Accademia. You can feel free to request short breaks as desired. The itinerary will be planned according to the location of your hotel as our starting and ending point, so does not have a standard/fixed route, but you'll find a partial list of the sites you can expect to see below.
-Internal visit to the Accademia Gallery
-The Duomo (Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore)
-The Baptistery of St. John
-Piazza della Signoria
-Santa Croce Basilica
Meeting Point + Tour Duration
Meeting Point Options: Rail or Bus Station, Hotel, Address or Intersection, Monument/Building
Duration: 3 hours
At peak times, museum reservations are sold out far in advance so I will need to check availability and reserve your fast-track entrance before accepting your booking. A true "skip-the-line" immediate entrance does not exist. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MAY STILL EXPERIENCE SOME WAIT TIME TO ENTER AS THE MUSEUM OBSERVES MAXIMUM CAPACITY LIMITATIONS FOR SAFETY REASONS. WHEN AT MAXIMUM CAPACITY, PATRONS INSIDE MUST EXIT BEFORE ADDITIONAL TICKET HOLDERS CAN ENTER. It is impossible to predict or control this factor.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
25 euros - This is a PER-PERSON estimate that will cover the cost of the admission ticket to the Accademia Gallery and, if desired, a snack and/or beverage. The total entrance ticket cost will be paid directly to the museum at the time of the visit and can be paid by credit card if desired.

Could not have asked for a better day with our guide, Paola. So pleasant, energetic and knowledgeable. My wife and I found her to be knowledgable on all aspects of Florence history but, particularly, on the various churches and the religious progression of Florence as a city. We thoroughly enjoyed her as an individual and would highly recommend her to any and all families. We will be recommending her to family and friends that have occasion to visit Florence in the future. Well done!
