This tour explores the Jebusite city conquered by King David and made the capital of his kingdom. The tour focuses on why David chose Jerusalem and the geographical and historical background. We will learn about the water system that made it possible to settle the mountain ridge, build a city and cultic center that became a focal point to both Judaism and Christianity.

Meeting location: I can meet you at your hotel, at Jaffa gate or at the archaeological park.
End location: I can return with you to your hotel or take you to a place of your choice in the Old City from where you can continue exploring on your own.

Walking in an archaeological park, including a 7th century water tunnel carved out of bedrock. We can take a taxi to the archaeological park if the client prefers.

Shmuel gave our small group a very informative tour of the ancient city of David. He is quite knowledgeable and shared with us descriptions of life in the old city and it's evolution. We really enjoyed the historical information and the tour through the water tunnels beneath the city. We had a great time with Shmuel.
