Let us discover this amazing city together.
Enjoy a half day insight into the city center of Salalah:
Start the tour with a visit to the second largest mosque in the country, the impressive Sultan Qaboos Mosque in the city center. Dominated by warm, sandy colours and illuminated by several crystal chandeliers, the interior of the mosque exudes a special and at the same time peaceful atmosphere.
After a brief photo stop at the official palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos ("Al Husn Palace ", not publicly accessible), take a walk through the still remaining, old Haffah Souk, famous for the sale of high-quality frankincense and many other souvenirs like colourful clay incense burners with traditional patterns.
Next, drive to the Museum of the frankincense land, which is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Al Baleed". Here you will visit the museum, which is the latest addition to the heritage of Oman and the cultural scene. It houses two halls. You will get a chance to stop and try drinking coconut drink and local bananas (Plantation Area).

The 4 of us left the boat early(30 minutes) and thank goodness our guide was early also so we didn't have to swelter in the sun. Due to Ramadan the Sultan Qaboos Mosque was closed but we did get to walk around it and take photos. Our guide has lots to tell us about living in Salalah . We loved seeing all the stops on our itinerary. A great tour of the port. The Frankincense Museum was fantastic.
