Hanoi Private Tour in one day
Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam, a city in the Northern part of the country. Not as commercialized as Saigon, its counterpart and possibly bigger city in the South.
It's been said that "Hanoi personifies a historic Vietnam", where in the midst of the busy streets and crowded traffics, you will find plenty traces of a ancient Vietnam: pagodas, temples, lakes, and rivers. Each of them carries some historic significance in Vietnam History.
Let's explore this fantastic city together!
9:00 AM: Pick up from your hotel to visit Tran Quoc pagoda, the most ancient pagoda in Hanoi. It was first built from the 6th century beside the Red River's bank.
10:00 AM: On to the Ho Chi Minh complex, including Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh's stilt House and One Pillar Pagoda - a group of structures consisting of a pagoda and a tower built in the middle of a square lake.
11:30 AM: Visit Temple of Literature which is dedicated to Confucius, built in 1070 as the first University of Vietnam.
1:30 PM: Continue to visit Museum of Ethnology - the most interesting museum in Hanoi with many different things relating the 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups. You can choose other museums as options.
3:30 PM: Transfer to the Old Quarter to see the local lives is the most interesting part of Hanoi city tour. We will go through the local market and very narrow, long building. You may enjoy a cup of traditional Vietnamese coffee or some glasses or local beer in the Old town.

Alex is an excellent guide. His English is very good. He was flexible at what museums we wanted to see. We decided to choose the Military History Museum over the Ethnology Musuem that we did not regret. He took us for lunch to a charity cafe and helped us to choose dishes. The spring rolls served there were very delicious! I only wished we could see the Imperial Citadel rather than going to the place that sells paintings. This should be communicated well in advance. Overall, I highly recommend Alex.
