Half Day 'Metropolis Melting Pot' Tour with Option to extend (to 6.5 hours)

Our fully customisable half day tour of this bustling metropolis begins with a drive along Durban's golden beaches, the 'Golden Mile', with an option to take a short stroll on the promenade, pictures of or even a ride in one of our colourful rickshaws, en-route to the impressive developments along the new Point Waterfront area and the busiest harbour in Africa. A ride up the funicular/ 'Sky Car' at the impressive world cup 'Moses Mabida' Stadium provides a panoramic view of the whole bay of Durban. Back on the ground, a drive through the city centre allows us to take in various historical monuments, with a stop at the 'Indian Market' where you can bargain for souvenirs and spices and glimpse Durban's Indian heritage. A visit to Africa's oldest Botanical Gardens with its extensive collection of trees, plants, cycads and orchids, and/ or Durban's only zoological Park, Mitchell Park, to take in some greenery, have a coffee or something to eat, is a wonderfully relaxing way to round off the day

Itinerary

Fetching you from your hotel or venue of choice, we begin with a drive through Durban's sports corridor with its impressive sporting facilities to the Blue Lagoon area on the Umgeni River.

Weather permitting, we take a ride on a funicular or 'Sky car' to a viewing platform at the top of Durban's World Cup Moses Mabhida stadium for a panoramic view of the city.

We continue passed the so-called Apartheid Beaches, the Marine Parade, where you will see and can 'experience' rickshaws, view impressive developments at the new Point Waterfront area and the busiest harbour in Africa. The city centre is home to such historic buildings as the second railway station, the City Hall and the Post Office - each with a story to tell.

A stop at the "Indian Market" to bargain for souvenirs is followed by some time out at the Botannical Gardens, and/or Mitchell Park, with the possibility of refreshments, before heading back to your hotel or venue of choice.
