Chicago is home to the first skyscraper and ever since 1885, Chicago has been known for its magnificent architecture. During this 2 hour walking tour we will explore the exteriors and interiors of 19th century Beaux Arts and Chicago School styles, 20th century Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern and Post-Modern styles and the architecture of the 21st century.

Itinerary

This is a leisurely walking tour. You can choose to cover as little as a few city blocks or a couple of miles. Our walking pace wlll determine the number of sites visited.

Meeting Location + Tour Duration

Meeting location: We will meet in the Randolph Street lobby of the Chicago Cultural Center (the former Chicago Public Library) at Randolph Street and Michigan Avenue. I can provide directions from your hotel. I can also arrange to meet you at your downtown hotel.

End location: We will return to the starting point or I will provide directions back to your hotel.

Duration: 2 hours

What’s Included

Other: You will receive a welcome packet at your downtown hotel. I provide bottled water for each guest. I can take digital photographs and videos at each location and download them to you. Each guest will receive a post card of a Chicago landmark to keep as a souvenir or to mail to someone back home.
