A Walking Tour Through Time

Chicago's Loop (and the city's downtown) is a living skyscraper museum. From the earliest tall office buildings of the 1880s-90s through the soaring and sleek Art Deco period to more recent high design structures, we will explore the stories and the innovations behind skyscraper architecture. Getting the best views from outside and going inside incredible interiors, we will see the work of Chicago's great architects over more than a century's time.

Some of the skyscrapers we will explore:

*The Rookery
*Chicago Board of Trade
*Sears (Willis) Tower
*The Monadnock
*The Manhattan
*Old Colony
*Fisher Building
*Marquette Building
*Field Building
*Reliance Building
*Inland Steel
*Marina City
*AMA Plaza
*Tribune Tower
*Wrigley Building

A Recent Review of this tour

Wendy was such a great guide today. We needed a two hour tour on a holiday Monday, no problem, she said! I felt I should tell her up front that one of us was an engineer and pretty familiar with Chicago - this didn't faze her! Also, we had a physical limitation of not being able to walk long distances. All of this she took in stride. She was extremely knowledgeable, but down to earth as she guided us through the "museum of architecture" inside the Loop, as she called it. Can't say enough positive her!
