A journey through time
On this tour, we will visit all the historical quarters within 3 hours and talk about all the monuments of the old town.
We will walk along the waterfront and see all the important works and public buildings and how their use changed throughout the years. Just a few steps away from the historic center lie the ruins of the first settlement which was built in the town some 5000 years ago.
Our tour will come to an end in the museum which is housed in a very impressive building of the Venetian period. It houses relics from the Neolithic period to the late Roman times, covering a chronological span of 3000 years. You will see pottery from different periods, mosaic floors, ancient coins, Minoan offerings, gold jewelry, classical Greek and Roman sculpture and other relics which give us important information about the ancient civilizations and their way of life.
Through the 1 hour-tour in the museum, you will be able to form a picture of the past and the development of ideas over the years.
