Photographing "The Lungs of Manhattan"
Explore Central Park's most scenic spots! The Pond, The Dairy, Sheep Meadow, The Mall, The Bow Bridge, Bethesda Fountain, Strawberry Fields. Capture your own iconic images in the lower section of one of the world's greatest urban park.
I will guide you through the lower section of Central Park. I will talk about photography, composition and technique, as you will hone your skills and develop your own eye. You will also learn about Central Park and how amazing this 843-acre park's mid-century 19th-century design and vision still lives today in 21st century New York.
This is the first tour I started as a tour guide 4 years ago and no matter how many times I have toured "The Lungs of Manhattan", I always experience and see something new. The vistas, the seasonal flora (and fauna), the natural details, the people. Today, I have made this tour my own unique tour.
This tour is about sharing my photographic skills with you along with my passion and knowledge of this park.
The classic tour is a tour of the southern end of the park - where we will visit The Pond, Gapstow Bridge, Hallett Nature Sanctuary, The Dairy, The Playmate Arch, Sheep Meadow, The Mall, The Bow Bridge, Bethesda Fountain, The Lake, and Strawberry Fields.
I also offer Middle and Northern Park tours, which can be separate tours or an extended half and full day park tours.
Middle Park includes a tour of the Ramble, Stone Arch, Belvedere Castle, Delacorte Theater, Great Lawn, Turtle Pond, The Obelisk, Winterdale Arch, Summit Rock,
In the Northern Park, there is The Loch, The Reservoir, Northern Woods ( and Meadow), The Mount. McGowan Pass, Fort Clinton, Huddle Stone Arch, Vanderbilt Gate, Frederick Douglass statue.
There are hundreds of sites in the 843-acre park. If there is some site you would like to visit, just let me know and I'll put on the itinerary.
Lunch is also a fun park option for longer tours. There are various priced places.
Make sure you have your battery (ies) fully charged and storage enough.

End location: At Central Park.

Walking tour. A mile of walking will be covered in a 2 1/2 hr tour - another mile in a half -day tour and three or more miles in a full day tour. Sometimes its fun and a nice break to jump on a bicycle carriage for a ride across the park. That would be additional cost of approx. $20 for 15 minutes.
My full and personal attention for 2 1/2 hours. I am eager to share my knowledge of this one of the world's greatest urban parks. And of course, my own photographic skills to guide you in capturing better images of Central Park.
