A five day/four night Garden Route tour starting and ending in Cape Town with your own private guide.
Experience the sights of the famous Route 62 through the vineyards of the Breede Valley to the semi-arid Klein Karoo, the magnificent Garden Route, Tsitsikamma forests and visit the southern tip of Africa at L'Agulhas.
We will stop at beautiful view points like the Map of Africa above Wilderness, the Knysna Heads, Plettenberg Bay and Dolphin Point. We visit an ostrich farm and the historic 20 million year old Cango Caves outside Oudtshoorn, overnight in Knysna, the oyster capital of South Africa, visit the Tsitsikamma National Park, and return to Cape Town via L'Agulhas, the Southern Tip of the African continent through Hermanus, the world renowned whale watching village. Optional extras include bungee jumping at Bloukrans Bridge, Monkeyland or the Elephant Sanctuary at The Craggs and an oyster and wine cruise on the Knysna lagoon.
The tour typically starts on a Monday morning and ends back in Cape Town on the Friday afternoon, but alt. starts can be arranged
DAY 1: Leave Cape Town and follow the R62 through the Worcester and the Breede Valley vineyards and later the semi-arid Klein Karoo to Oudtshoorn. Wine tasting at Calitzdorp and a visit to an ostrich farm included
DAY 2: After a visit to the Cango Caves we head to the Garden Route via the Outiniqua Pass and George. Overnight at Storms River in the heart of the Tsitsikamma. Highlights include the Map of Africa viewpoint, Plettenberg Bay, the Big Tree, Sauer Bridge view point
DAY 3: We enter the National Park and enjoy the morning at the river mouth before making our way back to Knysna. Stops at Bloukrans Bridge (bungee jumping optional) and The Craggs (Monkeyland/Elephant Sanctuary optional)
DAY 4: After an unforgetable view of the Knysna Heads we head for Arniston via Mossel Bay. Highlights include Dolphin Point, the Diaz Museum and 500 year old Post Office Tree
DAY 5: We visit L'Agulhas on the tip of Africa, view the old historic lighthouse, and return to Cape Town via Hermanus, the whale watching village
