A quest to find that special bottle of wine with a private guide
Enjoy the personal experience of Cape Winelands tour tailored to your preferences. The tours are very flexible and allow you to see the beautiful countryside. The main wine regions include Paarl, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Constantia, and Durbanville. All provide the opportunity to learn about the wine making process and enjoy the pairing of wine and cheese.
If you choose a tour to the Paarl region, you may decide to visit a micro chocolate factory, which is an educational experience in itself. You will learn how chocolate is made from the bean to bar. Learn about the Sabrage, a technique for opening champagne bottles with a saber, a method used by Napoleon.
Stellenbosch is an excellent choice and boasts more than 140 wine farms. The best thing about Cape Winelands tours is that you can set your pace. Experience as much as you want or slow things down, make friends and enjoy the ability to see the sights not generally seen on a typical tour.
The tour starts off with a drive from your hotel to the Winelands area. This is normally about 45 minutes.
We start of in the Paarl region with a chocolate tasting at a micro chocolate factory. Yes, you get to see the whole process from bean to bar!
From there we will have our first wine tasting and a cheese tasting at the farm next door.
Then we make our way to the Franschhoek valley where we will taste some more wine and if you want to you can experience the Sabrage. This is the way Napoleon opened bottles of wine. With a saber.
From there we will make our way to Stellenbosch where we will have another wine tasting.
Note that this tour is very flexible as there are many different options in this tour depending on your interests.

The Wine Tour was an enjoyable experience and the added chocolate visit made it memorable. Albert shared his knowledge and gave us options to tailor our visit around our interests. I spent time researching the available guides and Albert was a great choice.
