Climb to the highest pyramid and after dive in a sacred mayan Cenote
Coba is an ancient Mayan city that knew its heyday during the Classic period (between 200 A. D. and 900 A. D. ). It contains large buildings in the middle of dense vegetation. The highest of them, Nohoch Mul (42 meters tall or 138 feet) is worth a climb with one of the most stunning view over the jungle.
At the site entrance, next to a beautiful lake where crocodiles live since centuries, you have the option of walking, renting a bike (for people who like efforts) or rent a private bike cab (to enjoy the ride). You will have a few stops at different pyramids and well restored buildings with the explanation of a professional guide.
Once outside of the site, it will be time for a swim in a crystal-clear fresh water cenote, in the middle of stalactites and enormous tree roots, the ancient Mayan underworld. You may as well snorkel at that place.
This trip is fully customizable, we can stop at any other little cenotes lost in the jungle or stop anytime for shopping.
After picking you up at your hotel, we will have about 2 to 2:30 hours drive to Coba. Once there, 45 minutes with an arqueological tour guide, plus 2 hours on your own, to explore, take pictures, climb the nohoch Mul, and so. If you decide to have lunch with real Mayan cuisine (optional). Leave Coba ruins and before heading home, a 1 hour stop at the Cenote for snorkeling.
