Sculptures, Art, the Griffin plan and delving into History
Setting off from Albert Hall or the Hyatt Hotel, this walking tour is a great catalyst to cover a lot of Australian history, art and culture:
Magna Carta Place, a gift from Britain celebrating our democratic beginnings; a quick peak into the Treasures Gallery at the National Library; Reconciliation Walk and its sculptures and insights into history, finishing with some art and sculptures of the National Gallery of Australia. The hidden sculptures reveal some surprising histories and are delight to be discovered. The tour is three hours of moderate walking and lots of talking.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: Albert Hall, Front door, or foyer of Hyatt Hotel. We will confirm this when the booking is confirmed.
End location: We can return to the Albert Hall or Hyatt Hotel. If the tour has been in the morning, you might like to have lunch at the National Gallery or National Portrait Gallery and explore those more. It is a 10 - 15 minute walk back from there to the starting point. We can confirm this at time of booking.
Duration: 3 hours
If the weather is too hot or too cold we'll spend more time inside the buildings than out.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
4 AUD - A little money for a cup of coffee at the end or indeed lunch might be a good idea, if the morning slot is chosen.
I am not licensed to drive a vehicle for hire or reward. I can drive a private vehicle that you provide as a courtesy. No money is taken for driving. These days, catching an Uber between venues is a good inexpensive option.
