Dramatic views along the Cabot Trail while exploring an Acadian Fishing Village
Small, coastal, Acadian fishing village of Cheticamp is a 2 hour drive from the Port of Sydney. We travel west on the Trans-Canada Highway passing Baddeck, on our way through the Margarees, and then on to Cheticamp located on the western edge of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Here you can visit Les Trois Pignons, and the "Happy Hookers" (world renowned rug hookers). Absolutely amazing works of art and they are for sale!
This tour includes 6 scheduled photo opportunity stops, travel into the Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
Stop for Lunch - per request only. Cost for lunch is not included in the tour.
Our day starts in the city of Sydney, where I will pick you up at the designated location.
Travel westward to the Trans-Canada Highway, passing the village of Baddeck (where we will stop on the way back to Sydney if time permits). West of Baddeck we enter the western side of the World Famous Cabot Trail and make our way through a lush landscape to the Margarees. Once we pass through the Margarees, we will make our way to Chéticamp (the largest of the Acadian fishing villages along this route).
Chéticamp is at the western entrance to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, where we will venture over French mountain. Turning around at the iconic Skyline Trail. Our decent back into Chéticamp will provide you with the view most photographed along the Cabot Trail.
We will then stop for lunch (optional) or visit Chéticamp Island, where the cows roam free and if it is sunny they may be basking on the beach!
Finally we will make our way back to the city of Sydney.
