Gorilla safari in Uganda: Trekking Gorillas families in Bwindi National Park is the foremost tourist attraction in Uganda, and possibly the best wildlife encounter in the world. Here half the world's population of Mountain Gorillas live in this most diverse rainforest ecosystem. There are other primates here as well; Chimpanzees, Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Grey-cheeked Mangabey and L'hoest Monkeys. In addition, there are 350 bird species, 200 butterflies, 27 species of frogs, 163 species of trees and 100 species of ferns.
Please note: Since Rwanda hiked her gorilla trekking permits, there has been a sharp increase in numbers of people looking at Uganda as a cheaper option for gorilla tours. I kindly request you to book in advance so as I can secure your gorilla trekking permits. Remember there are always limited number of permits issued for conservation reasons.
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Travel west with a stop over at the Equator for some photo and lunch. Continue the drive through the virgin rolling hills of Ankole - Kigezi to the home of Mountain Gorillas - Bwindi Forest where you will reach in the evening.
Day2: Gorilla trekking Tour
After break fast, your driver guide will transfer you to an information center from where you will be briefed on the "do's and don'ts" while in the forest. The unique insight and knowledge of the ranger guide are sure to add to your experience and understanding of the habits and behaviors of the Mountain Gorillas. As you head into the forest, it may be silent at the first encounter but as you track, you will realize the jungle sound as you see various forest Flora and fauna.
